Fractions -
Mar 1 at NWESD
This session is aligned to the new standards and is intended to help teachers unpack the new standards to their students, as well as help teachers with new material at their grade level. During this session, participants will:
Develop their conceptual understanding of fractions, experience activities that help students develop these concepts, and determine the level of understanding for these concepts at their grade level based on the state standards.

Perimeter and Area - Apr 14 at NWESD
This session is aligned to the new standards and is intended to help teachers unpack the new standards to their students, as well as help teachers with new material at their grade level. During this session, participants will: develop their conceptual understanding of area and perimeter, experience activities that help students develop these concepts, develop an understanding of the formulas used to determine area and perimeter, and discover the level of understanding for these concepts at their grade level based on the state standards.

Multiplication and Division - May 4 at NWESD
This session is aligned to the new standards and is intended to help teachers unpack the new standards to their students, as well as help teachers with new material at their grade level. During this session, participants will: develop an understanding of multiplication and division concepts for their grade band, develop understanding of different problem types for multiplication and division, learn a variety of strategies for solving multiplication and division problems, and experience models that support thinking about Big Ideas in multiplication and division.

Grades 3-5, 6-8 and grade 10

Changes for 2010 and Beyond, is a new document that includes changes in the mathematics assessment system, a summary of mathematics assessment updates, and sample items to familiarize teachers and students with the item types on the assessments. Most of this information pertains to the grades 3-8 mathematics assessments. Some information on changes to the high school assessment for 2010 is also included, while potential high school changes in 2011 and beyond have yet to be determined.
